                    PREVENTION - INTERVENTION

Because we believe that community involvement is the best approach to confront the issues of chemical dependency, Aldie Counseling Center fosters the development of community energy, interest, skills, and responsibility for prevention and elimination of alcohol and other drug abuse.

 

Aldie draws upon a variety of programs and services to educate the community. Schools, churches and synagogues, community service groups, parents' organizations, and youth groups are encouraged to take advantage of our many programs, which include:

Speakers and training programs for community groups
on topics such as -- how to recognize a problems, how to talk with kids about drugs and alcohol, etc
Student prevention groups at local schools
Workshops for parents and school personnel
Sponsorship of youth sports teams
Participation in community health fairs
Helping At-Risk Children -- a free booklet for adults who work with children.
