Aldie Counseling Center—
Helping those with mental health issues deal with their substance/alcohol abuse or addiction problems.

Many people with drug/alcohol abuse or addiction problems are also dealing with mental health issues – anxiety, depression, ADD, etc. Sometimes people try to self-medicate in an effort to control their symptoms, and that in itself can be the beginning of a drug or alcohol problem. Aldie's psychiatrists are able to evaluate these symptoms and, when necessary, prescribe medications to alleviate the discomfort of these co-occurring conditions.

Aldie has been certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Health as a "co-occurring competent" provider. This means that in addition to their traditional clinical education, our counselor/therapists have completed special training to sharpen their skills in recognizing and addressing mental health problems.

Your primary therapist may suggest that you meet with our psychiatrist for diagnosis of any co-occurring problems that may be present. You may also talk with your primary therapist if you feel that you would benefit from an evaluation by the doctor.
