Aldie Counseling Center—
Adolescent Program Information

Aldie's Adolescent Counseling Program is dedicated to providing quality services to adolescents and families who are presently struggling with substance abuse and dependency. Individuals between the ages of 14-18 years of age will be provided with a comprehensive intake assessment to ensure an appropriate level of effective therapeutic care. Aldie Counseling Center currently offers a four-tiered level of care system for adolescents to ensure the most adequate course of treatment. Aldie is motivated to decrease the number of youth in the community that are engaging in alcohol and illegal drug use through early intervention, psycho-education, individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy efforts.

Addictions Awareness Program

This program is designed for adolescents who are presently engaging in experimentation of substances, show early warning signs for abuse and/or dependence, and at-risk youth.  This six-week therapeutic program consists of weekly individual and/or family therapy sessions and intensive education and awareness of the negative effects of alcohol and substance use physically, emotionally, socially, and psychologically. Adolescents are required to take urine drug screens upon admission, and are subjected to randomized urine drug screens throughout the course of the program. At the end of the 6-week program, adolescents have the opportunity to be reassessed to determine if they would benefit from continued therapeutic intervention or discharge.

Early Intervention/Prevention Program

Aldie's Adolescent Early Intervention/Prevention Program is a 12-week intensive therapeutic program, for adolescents who are currently struggling with substance abuse or dependency. This program consists of weekly individual/family therapy sessions and weekly therapeutic groups. Individuals will explore the impacts of substance abuse on their daily lives, including school, community involvement, and relationships with family and peers. Adolescents are required to complete a urine drug screen upon admission, and are subjected to randomized urine drug screens throughout the course of the program. Upon the completion of this program, adolescents will be reassessed to determine the appropriate level of care to meet their needs.

Matrix Program

The Matrix Program at Aldie Counseling Center is designed for adolescents who are presently struggling with substance abuse or dependency, and it is impeding multiple facets of their daily life. This intensive program was developed to meet the needs of those adolescents who are presently facing residential treatment should they not effectively manage their addiction. This 16-week, therapeutic program utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, contingency management, motivational interviewing and family involvement to provide the adolescent with the necessary skills to address their substance abuse or dependence. Participants are required to attend weekly individual therapy sessions, weekly relapse prevention groups, weekly adolescent/caregiver education groups, and weekly early recovery skills groups. Opportunities for adolescent social support are also provided during the program. Participants are required to complete a randomized urine drug screen each week. At the end of the program, participants will be re-evaluated to determine an appropriate level of care. Adolescents have the opportunity to continue engaging weekly in the adolescent social support group once the program has been completed.

Matrix Plus Program

The Matrix Plus program is the most intensive level of outpatient care offered at Aldie Counseling Center. This program is designed specifically for the adolescent in need, and is customized based on the specific areas the client needs support. For example, if the client needs additional individual and family therapy sessions each week, this will be provided. Some clients may benefit from daily group therapy sessions, and this can be accommodated within this program.
